Occasionally here on Eczema Honey, we like to highlight products from our sister brand, Psoriasis Honey. We ended up launching Psoriasis Honey after we discovered that many of our customers were purchasing Eczema Honey products for their psoriasis. This was great, but we wanted to make sure that we developed purposeful solutions to treat the needs of psoriasis-sufferers.
Introducing the Psoriasis Honey Oatmeal and Salt Soap
When you have psoriasis, it can often be difficult to find the right products that don’t make your symptoms worse or increase the chances of flare ups. One of the most quintessential household items is the simple bar of hand or body soap. Humans have been using soaps dating back past 2000 B.C. Soaps are salts of fatty acids that break up oil, suspending it in water so that it’s easily washed away. This also helps to carry away dirt and other pollutants to keep your face and body squeaky clean.
Today’s modern soap contains many chemicals that could be detrimental to your health. Some of the most popular soaps on the market have unnecessarily harsh ingredients like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or questionable additives like "fragrance" and parabens found in typical soaps can often cause the most problems with people who have sensitive skin and suffer from psoriasis or eczema.
How Our Soap Can Help
To be clear, using our soap will not cure psoriasis. Psoriasis is a chronic condition that won’t magically go away. Even when the skin is clear, it is still essential to keep your skin clean and hydrated. Our soap is designed to be gentle enough for daily face and body use for those with psoriasis.
We have carefully designed our bar soap formula to include gentle ingredients that will help soften skin, reduce redness, and calm itching while it gently cleans away residue and dirt. Our blend of coconut oil, palm oil, grapeseed oil and safflower oil offers proper moisturization and essential skin nutrients. We use organic honey for its antibacterial and humectant (moisture absorbing) properties for extra conditioning benefits.
Our soap helps fight excess skin on psoriasis plaques in a safe way, using a combination of Dead Sea Salt and Pink Himalayan Salt (the highest grade)to slough away dead skin. This helps to soften skin plaques and promote healthy skin cell turnover. Finally, colloidal oatmeal helps to calm down skin that’s inflamed.
We don’t use artificial fragrances either, simply lavender oil for it’s calming and anti-inflammation properties. We have found the scent to be quite pleasing.
An Aid in Your Fight Against Psoriasis
When fighting against psoriasis, every bit counts. Psoriasis Honey Oatmeal and Salt Soap is an easy addition to your morning, nighttime, and bathtime regimen. Get clean without harsh chemicals or surfactants with our convenient gentle cleansing bars. You’ll notice that the soap doesn’t foam up like normal soaps since we don’t use sulfates or parabens. But we think that you’ll find the feeling to be great, nonetheless!
